Historic Flight Nears Takeoff From California Voyager Flight
King Radio of Olathe Kansas has donated more than 170000 dollars of avionics to the Voyager project led by Richard Rutan and Jeana Yeager. Beech Aircraft Corp of Wichita purchased Scaled Composites and backs the Starship I prototype. The plan is to attempt a global nonrefueled flight around 1984 85 or 86 with Salina Kansas hosting a stopover after turbulence forced a previous landing on a prior leg.
