High-Tech Tax Breaks Eyed In Kansas Legislature
Kansas lawmakers endorse a modest tax credit plan to spur donations of new and used technical equipment to state colleges and universities. The bill would offer 30 percent credit for new gear and 20 percent of book value for used gear, up to 25 000 dollars, with a two year sunset unless extended. It would apply to six state universities two year colleges and vocational schools under the Regents Board. The plan forecasts up to one million dollars annual cost and aims to attract high technology training resources while inviting further legislative review.

Reagan May Trot Out Well-Tattered Tax Plan
Reagan administration signals a 1985 budget plan similar to the rejected 1984 proposal. A tax-with-spending-cut linkage is hinted with a possible surcharge and oil levy. Defense spending, Medicare cautions, and a broader AT&T Express Call rollout loom as key economic directions.
