Cantaloupe's Global Journey and Ripening Guide
The article traces cantaloupes from ancient Nile tales to Persia and Italy, then to Columbus’s 1494 voyage. Guidance includes room temperature ripening, then refrigeration, and notes on overripeness and bruising. It ends with serving ideas like melon with prosciutto.
