O Dells Give OU Record Gift to Support Surprise Campus
Jim and Jeanne O'Dell, OU alumni, donate 6 million dollars to Ottawa University to fund the O Dell Center for Athletics at the Surprise Arizona campus. The gift marks the largest in OU history and follows decades of support including earlier million gifts and leadership on a capital campaign.

Grant for six moderate income rental units approved
Ottawa city commissioners unanimously approved a $400,000 grant from KHRC toward the construction of six moderate income two bedroom rental units near North Cherry and Enterprise streets in Ottawa. The 1,064 square foot units mark phase one of Prairie Fire Development Group's three phase plan to build about 56 moderate to low income housing units on the nine acre site. Prairie Fire is based in Olathe.

Frontier District No. 11 Extension office named Jo Ellen Arnold Mike and Sharon Kilet Ken and Lori Kuykendall as 2017 Appreciation Award recipients for outstanding contributions to extension programs. Arnold began with K state in 1978, 34 years as 4 H Youth Development Agent, active in national judging and Washington Focus trips, Wildernes program coordinator, and 4 H Distinguished Service Award recipient.
