Kansas DOT lists 1.7 billion in highway upgrades planned
The Kansas Department of Transportation disclosed 90 system enhancement projects totaling 1.7 billion dollars, aimed at road improvements, interchanges and bypasses across cities and counties. Projects include upgrading US-81 to four lanes, Wichita bypass, and numerous K and US highway corridors with costs ranging from tens to hundreds of millions, funded by a state plan approved in 1989.
