Merry Christmas lunch menus spark recall in two districts
In Federal Way 11,500 calendar menus were recalled and reprinted at a cost after a new nutrition worker used Merry Christmas, violating policies against religious language. The menus were never distributed and recycled. In Medina a Christmas mitten tree gift program was removed after parent complaints of religious connotations, with gifts redirected to Lake Hills Elementary.
