The planned December opening of Station Casino Kansas City, the region's fifth and largest riverboat, has been postponed. Missouri regulators have not set an opening date, with officials noting ongoing background checks and investigations. The $255 million complex on the Missouri River near I 435 is poised to be among the nation’s largest riverboat gambling floors once cleared.
A federal jury in Brooklyn ordered Digital Equipment Co. to pay nearly $6 million to three women who blamed keyboards for disabling arm and wrist injuries. Patricia Geressy, Jill Jackson, and Janet Rotolo received awards of about $5.4 million, $306,000, and $278,000 respectively. The company plans to appeal, arguing no evidence shows keyboards cause such disorders.
