Baldwin wrestlers split season-opening duals
Baldwin High opened with a 66-21 win over Perry-Lecompton and a 41-33 loss to Holton. Six pins and four forfeits against Perry-Lecompton highlighted a strong start, while Holton led mid-meet before Baldwin trimmed the gap with pins from Breedlove and Hinton and decisions from Westgate and Turk. Baldwin and Gardner eighth graders faced off in a tight 26-24 Gardner win. Kyleigh Garman led Baldwin with 10 points and seven rebounds while Bailey Stuart scored six and Kara Tompkins added four assists. Baldwin’s seventh graders lost 20-14 to Wheatridge.
