New Dairy Cooperative Plans Open Next Fall in Franklin County
A group of area farmers with Manhattan partner 21st Century Alliance announced Tally Creek Dairy a cooperative owned operation on 107 acres in northeast Franklin County. The plant will use a fully enclosed free stall facility with methane capture to power the site employing up to 40 full time staff and handling 2 500 cows. The coop plans to issue stock in January inviting feed grain alfalfa producers to join as owners as it aims to capture more dairy profits and align with environmental standards.
