Vinland Living Nativity enters 19th season near Baldwin City
The Vinland Living Nativity returns for its 19th year at the Hemphill farm hillside three miles north of Baldwin City. Five characters portray the Holy Family in half hour shifts Dec 21 22 and 23 from 6 to 9 pm with live animals and volunteer shepherds. Visitors sign a guest book and may donate to Youthville Kansas.

Hog feedlot proposal stirs local concerns and permits

Riemerlee Tonight Forecast Snow Likely In Evening
Weather forecast shows cloudy conditions with an 80 percent chance of light snow tonight in Riemerlee. Lows in the lower 20s, north wind 5 to 15 mph. Kansas ice storm brings regional power outages
The Associated Press reports a severe winter storm cut power to about 1,900 customers in Atchison Junction City and Manhattan with 10,000 more affected at times in Manhattan and Junction City. Crews aimed to restore power by noon. By mid day Wednesday 90 percent of Topeka and Shawnee County service had been restored with the balance coming back soon.
