Judge denies restraining order in conscientious objector case
Kansas City sergeant John K. Pruner seeks delay to file as a conscientious objector to Saudi deployment. U.S. District Judge George Van Bebber refused a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, ruling it would harm Army operations and that Pruner could pursue Army status while deployed. Pruner, 24, of Fort Riley, an intelligence analyst, argued changes to CO rules were not published. He said, if sent, he would be part of murder. He is from Lebanon, Virginia, and has spent most of his Army career at Fort Riley.
