Prison Term For Kidnaping In Kansas City Tavern Owner Case
One of two men accused of kidnapping a Kansas City tavern owner on August 4 received a three year prison sentence. Judge R Jasper Smith sentenced Lewis W Huston 43 for kidnapping Arthur S Kern 1165 Southwest Blvd Kansas City Kan. The second defendant Fred Merle McWilliams 30 Renton Wash pleaded not guilty and faces trial later. Savings Bonds are tax exempt.

Roy Spaur reported a bandit robbed him of 269 dollars at his restaurant on U. S. 69 five miles south of Pittsburg Kansas. The man offered a twenty to pay for two sandwiches, demanded the cash, and forced Spaur into the kitchen before fleeing with the money.
