BYU worker to receive $10000 found in 1996

A BYU maintenance worker who found $10,000 in two pipes at Harold B. Lee Library turned the money over to campus police. Despite a state legal effort to locate the owner, the funds remain unclaimed after three months. Police say the finder acted with honesty and patience, and the university will award him the cash.

Ottawa Arts Council Holiday Open House

Ottawa Arts Council hosts a Holiday Open House on Thursday December 7 from 4 to 7 pm at the Carnegie Cultural Center corner 5th and Main. Local vendors include Rabbit Creek mixes coffee and cocoas and Ransom Memorial Hospital Gift Shop offers gifts. Weekend events sparkles across Franklin County

This weekend features a Holiday Open House at Carnegie Cultural Center from 4 to 7 p.m. today, a BNSF Intermodal briefing at Ottawa Country Club, and a Saturday Alpaca Company sale with demos from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rescheduled Ottawa Christmas Parade is Sunday with 1 p.m. kickoff. Proceeds from Ransom Hospital Homes Tour fund scholarships. Next week brings Vassar’s holiday fest with post office hours, Santa, and BBQ. Ottawa events fill the evening with arts and parades

Ottawa hosts a busy lineup from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Carnegie Cultural Center open house, a third and fourth grade Christmas program at Lincoln Elementary, an art talk on Albert Barnes, a Chamber Coffee at Total Wellness, a VFW ham burger night benefiting cancer aid, a Winter Dance at Ottawa Middle School, an Eagles Hall ham burger night, the Ottawa Christmas Parade starting on Main Street, a Hands of Glory show at the Ottawa Municipal Auditorium, and a Christmas show at the Hitchin Post Opry in Quenemo with local choirs and bands.
