Oklahoma Gov rejects Big Eight TV ban on Sooners
Gov David Hall told Big Eight faculty representatives at their winter meeting that the conference has no right to bar the University of Oklahoma football team from television. He noted a five year radio contract and argued many taxpayers rely on TV to watch the Sooners, while the probation barred bowl games and TV appearances in 1973 74 and 75. Ottawa Rough Riders QB Rick Cassata quipped that not all doctors agree on acupuncture but some will take a stab at it.
