Teen park dream becomes reality in Ottawa
The Goppert Teen Park at 202 W. 15th St. Ottawa opened with a ribbon cutting led by city officials. The project includes skate ramps moved from West Third Street and four basketball courts, funded by community donations including a $100,000 anonymous gift, with third phase plans to add an agility course graffiti walls and ziplines. Ottawa Play Taskforce chair Fonda Rose and director Wynndee Lee underscored ongoing fundraising to finish the park by 2018 and keep teens engaged.
