Mid America Nutrition Program seeks Facebook likes for grant
The Mid America Nutrition Program won a $100 grant and can gain up to $500 more by securing the most Facebook likes for its Meals on Wheels story. The group serves Anderson Coffey Franklin Osage Miami and Linn counties and plans to use funds to feed more local seniors. Executive Director Sharon Geiss notes donations cover 40 percent of meal costs and grants help replace equipment and reach remote areas. Paula Willford, event chair for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Franklin County, received the Spirit of Hope Award after being nominated by a staff member.
