Lead Free Gas Soon for 1975 Models
EPA plans lead free gasoline rules to fit 1975 model autos and antipollution devices with at least one grade of lead free fuel by July 1, 1974. A full phaseout could follow after public review, delaying further reductions for about a year. Prices may rise about 1.65 cents per gallon as aromatics substitute for lead.
