Franklin County charter exemption from tax limits debated
Franklin County Kansas Board of County Commissioners adopted a charter resolution exempting costs of operating the sheriff’s office from aggregate tax levy limits under KSA 79 5001 to 79 5016. The measure allows a levy outside the limit for sheriff operations, pending possible referendum and final publication in December 1979. The action was taken November 21 1979 with first publication December 3 and last publication December 17. Also included is a notice of sale in the Franklin Savings Associate case, with real estate to be sold December 28 1979 at 10:00 AM at the Ottawa courthouse.
