No strikeouts at Home Base

A Herald Staff Writer report notes Home Base for six area boys, a community owned group home funded largely by the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services and United Way. United Way provides 4500 dollars, enabling mortgage payments and a summer vacation. The home operates with teaching parents Garry and Becky Anderson, two part time assistants, and a live in alternate. The program uses a token economy to reward good behavior and requires daily family conferences to discuss discipline and ensure fair, structured guidance.
