Convicted Felon Named to Community College Board
Clyde Townsend aged 78 was appointed to the Kansas City Kansas Community College board of trustees to fill a near two year vacancy. Townsend, a former Wyandotte County commissioner, was convicted in 1989 of taking a $5,000 kickback related to no bid contracts from Central Paving and Construction Inc. He served eight months of a two year sentence and has since joined advisory boards and remains active in the NAACP and Wyandotte County Democratic Party.
