Rare juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton found in South Dakota
The nearly complete juvenile T rex skeleton nicknamed Tinker, about 23 feet long and weighing around 1,200 to 1,500 pounds, was discovered north of Belle Fourche in 1998. It is being prepared for study in a Texas lab, with researchers noting its potential to reveal growth patterns and species questions. Paleontologist Robert Bakker calls the find a window into the dinosaur's childhood.
