Solar heated home cuts bills and boosts comfort
Paul Ditleyson and his family designed a 1,900 square foot energy efficient home in Ottawa RFD 4 with a solar heating and cooling system. The setup uses heat pumps, a 2,300 gallon rainwater tank, and double pane windows to minimize energy use. Last winter the bills were only 6.05 for two months, while a cold snap tested the system when maintenance left the house at 62 degrees for four days.
