Cable Cut Disrupts Ottawa Police and Franklin County Offices
A severed telephone cable cut power to police radios teletype and telephones at Ottawa Police Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office about 10 am. A contractor replacing a boiler in the courthouse basement damaged the line, disrupting service for roughly 35 minutes while Southwestern Bell spliced the line. Calls to the agencies were routed through the Kansas Highway Patrol Office during the outage.

Library relocates book box to Fifth and Hickory corner
