WCTU District I convention honor and reports
The annual WCTU District I convention was held at Trinity Methodist Church. Anna Bryan was honored with a Living Memorial and a fund for Intercollegiate Alcohol Oratorical Contests was announced. Officers were elected including Mary Black as president and Charles Funk as vice president. The gathering featured music, prayers, a memorial service for nine district members, and a film on smoking and cancer by the American Cancer Society.

Shower Honors Lois Ann Chesbro at Wellsville Church
A bridal shower for Lois Ann Chesbro was held at Wellsville Baptist Church fellowship hall on Monday night. Hostesses included Miss Josephine Hostetter and several others. The table centerpiece featured a pink umbrella and honeycomb bride and groom. White carnation corsages were given to Chesbro, her mother, grandmother, and the groom’s mother and grandmother. Entertainment included a mock wedding. About 40 attended.
