City wins grant to cover Ottawa siren overhaul
Ottawa will cover the other half of a 12880 project to place a single large rotating siren for full city coverage. The federal grant funds 6440 while the city’s labor and install costs cover the balance. The system will trigger on tornado sighting or radar report from Topeka. Three small sirens will be replaced and relocated to industrial and west Ottawa areas. Installation aimed for next spring.
