He born November 23 1931 in Ottawa and worked as a truck driver for Bennett Creamery All-Star Dairy and Fairmont Dairy. He married Candie Torrez in 1967 and she survives. He was active in Sacred Heart Church Knights of Columbus and the Warehouse and Drivers Union. He has two sisters Eloise and Connie. Memorials to Sacred Heart Church.

Bunyan's Burger Quest Ends in Sterling Birthday Victory
Bill Bunyan, a retired teacher, finally completed his three year burger tour of Kansas counties by eating in all 105 counties on his 65th birthday in Sterling. About fifty friends and strangers attended at Paddy's Restaurant as his wife, Susan, shared hamburger shaped invitations. Bunyan started in June 2000 and often diverted to counties with missing visits, recording his journey in a photo album while contending with high cholesterol. He plans future dining adventures despite the finish.

Markets Slip on Quiet Start to Week as Dow Dips
Stocks slid for a second session amid scant economic news and light volume. The Dow fell 34.94 to 9,313.93, the Nasdaq dropped 6.01 to 1,759.31, and the S&P 500 edged down 1.67 to 991.39 as Caterpillar and Alcoa led declines while Wal-Mart rose on higher August same store sales outlook. Overseas markets were mostly lower with Japan’s Nikkei flat and European indices down ahead of a holiday in Britain. Local grain quotes and farm-service prices were listed for several towns.
