Grant to pave Burg Pomona Road in Franklin County

Franklin County will receive 400000 from the Kansas Department of Transportation to pave about six miles of Colorado Road between Williamsburg and Pomona. The grant requires in kind county labor as a match and should complete blacktopping between Williamsburg and Pomona with work starting near spring.

RMH Strikes Loan Deal With Franklin County

Ransom Memorial Hospital boards approves contracts regulating a $495000 Community Development Block Grant loan from Franklin County. Repayment runs 60 months with no interest, first payment due in month 19, $11785.71 monthly into an escrow at Kansas State Bank. County holds first lien on assets including receivables and equipment valued at $1.5 million and $4 million respectively. County to receive $500000 state grant in two $250000 payments, $5000 reserved for admin costs. If timely, state may allow keeping grant after full repayment for hospital use.
