Pipe hanger flaws delaying Wolf Creek completion
Kansas regulators report extensive rework on about 27 000 pipe hangers at the Wolf Creek nuclear plant near Burlington due to improper installation and safety concerns. The finding links the hanger problems to a major construction delay and a rise in cost to nearly 2.5 billion dollars, with 74 week lag in the essential service water system and continued productivity issues at contractor Daniel International Corp.
