Swedish Children Far Ahead in Sex Knowledge in Study
Swedish youngsters show greater sexual knowledge than peers in the United States, Australia and Britain due to compulsory sex education from age eight. The La Trobe University project found Swedish 9 year olds understand conception and gestation, gender as a social choice, and romantic views of marriage, with Sweden uniquely not tying marriage to childbearing.

Dear Ann Landers readers weigh in on family and manners
A reader advises telling a son to ask his girlfriend to cover up during boat outings to spare the mother embarrassment. Ann Landers lightly rebuts, then reflects on tact in church jokes about mothers' ages. A third letter praises advice to a Madison teen about parental conflict and therapy’s value, while a final note commends the counselor’s guidance.
