West Franklin boards approve 15 year roof for Appanoose Elementary

A June 18 storm caused attic and roof damage at Appanoose Elementary in Williamsburg. The school board opted for a 50 mil TPO roof from Dale Poe Construction at 38,496 with a 15 year guarantee, funded as a capital outlay while students use other facilities.

New fee schedule increases transfer station charges in January

Franklin County Commissioners approved a new fee schedule for the Franklin County Transfer Station with a higher minimum for municipal solid waste from 8 to 10 and a 3 per ton rise on trash and construction and demolition materials. A new 20 appliance freon fee is included. Brush rates stay 28 per ton, leaves and white goods remain free. The changes take effect January 1, 2014.
