Farm Poisons in Kansas Shift Toward Less Chemical Use
Kansas entomology chief Dean Garwood says modern pesticides emerged in the 1940s and 50s but are declining. Farmers may need non chemical controls as pest biology gains attention. State actions show prosecutions rare, with 5 of 61 complaints pursued 1979 to 1984, prompting closer follow ups and potential EPA referrals.
