Richmond Youth's Steel Tops Richmond Fair Swelters In Heat
The second day of the Richmond Free Fair was hot and uncomfortable with livestock judging starting at 9 am. A hog collapsed and died after competing. Grand champion honors went to Jon Dunbar of Richmond for the Angus steer, with other breed champions named from Hereford, Shorthorn, and crossbred classes. Additional awards covered sheep, dairy cattle, and 4-H divisions with numerous regional entrants. The fair closes with a 6:30 parade, 7:45 band concert, 8:30 Dewey Richardson Band, and 9:30 trophy awards.
