Delinquent taxes loom as Ottawa Herald prints list
The Ottawa Herald will publish a lengthy list of delinquent property taxes on two more Tuesdays this month. More than 750 owners owe nearly $1.1 million, down from last year. Dodson Investments of Rantoul tops the list with $41,445 overdue on aviation parts, and 20 plus properties with over $64,000 owed. Tom and Sharon Morrisey show 21 properties and nearly $17,000 due. Foreclosures are fewer as mortgage firms pay taxes to protect investments. renewed tax sales reduced the number of properties on the list from 40 to six, with three years overdue required for sale and a year to notify interested parties. Better enforcement has improved payment patterns and may sustain them.
