Sheep Producers Vote Aug 16 27 on Council Promotion Plan
A referendum from August 16 to 27 asks sheep and wool producers to authorize the American Sheep Producers Council Inc to continue its market promotion and improvement program with the U S Department of Agriculture. The plan would allow larger deductions from incentive payments and withhold part of 1983 85 wool incentives to fund advertising and quality development programs. Ballots will be distributed by the ASCS county office in early August and must be returned by the close of the referendum. Any producer who owned sheep six months old or older for at least 30 consecutive days during 1981 may vote.
