Ottawa approves budget cuts amid calls to protect auditorium
City commissioners approved a 35 019 cut package trimming 20 000 from the Ottawa Municipal Auditorium and 500 from the Main Street Association budget, while maintaining support for the auditorium. Gloria Stitt questioned potential closure, and city manager Richard Nienstedt said all options remain on the table. Mayor Sara Caylor and Commissioner Blake Jorgensen defended the auditorium, noting the budget remains above revised 2013 levels even after cuts.
