Family battle in Reno County judge race

Reno County District Judge Steve Becker faces his wife Sarah E. Sweet-McKinnon in the November election. Sweet-McKinnon, a Sedgwick County public defender, was unopposed in the Democratic primary while Becker, a Republican, defeated Deputy Reno County Attorney Thomas Stanton 5 097 to 3 036. They filed for office together in June during a judge's conference. Becker praised his wife and said there are no hard feelings.
