The old Santa Fe depot, built in 1882 and on the Kansas historical register, burned early today in Emporia. Firefighters fought the blaze with 40 crews, keeping defense measures as utilities were shut off for years. A few railroad lines were briefly halted. No injuries reported. cause under investigation as suspicious.

Preceded by infant daughter Violet Johnson sisters Grace Burnett Cleo Dick McGee Faye Wilson brother Mac Johnson. Burial Central Cemetery Franklin County. Memorials to Williamsburg United Methodist Church in care of Dengel Son Mortuary. Matthew Allen Thomas Pomona 25 died August 9 1999 in an automobile accident.
