Easton State Bank failed, marking Kansas as ninth insolvency this year, with 13 banks failing statewide in 1985. FDIC will reopen Easton as Fort National Bank, a new subsidiary of Exchange Bankshares, absorbing $15.9 million in deposits and $13.2 million in assets while FDIC advances funds for the transfer.
