Linda Roth of Rantoul won a horse in the Lane Fair drawing but opted for a $300 cash payout saying she has no time for a horse. The horse will be sold to benefit the fair board, with proceeds funding next year’s drawing and a new horse. Attendance rose despite 100 degree heat as crowds enjoyed parades and the greased pig contest.
