Helen E. O'Berg 91 died August 6 2004 at Life Care Center Osawatomie. Funeral 10 a.m. Monday at St Philip Neri Osawatomie. Born May 4 1913 in Omaha to Stephen and Elizabeth Huss. WWII lead turret worker at Martin Bomber plant helping build B 26 and B 29 aircraft including Enola Gay. Survived by husband Stanley W. O'Berg, son Ronald Baxter, daughter Patricia Butler, sister Irene Kopecky, brother Robert Huss, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Burial Osawatomie Cemetery. Memorials to St Philip's Church.

Evans and Norma Lee Baughn. She grew up in Garnett, lived in Chanute and Elsmore, worked at Arrowhead Lanes, married Neil Hermreck June 10, 1994. Survived by husband, son Jacob, two daughters Brooke and Nicole, father, brother Lloyd, sisters Debra and Donna, grandmother Loretta Evans, and her mother who also died in the accident. Burial Pleasant View Cemetery Glenloch. Visitation 6–8 p.m. Monday. memorials to Children’s Education Fund via Farris Feuerborn Memorial Chapel.

Funk legend Rick James known for Super Freak died in his sleep at a home near Universal City California aged 56. Publicist Sujata Murthy said he lived alone and was found by his personal assistant who notified police. Police and Murthy cited natural causes pending autopsy results.
