Congress Nears Agreement on 1964 Wilderness Act
Congress is close to approving a bill to preserve a vast system of wilderness areas in their natural state. The act would protect more than 9 million acres of national forest lands across 11 states with potential for 5 million more later. It would allow limited commercial services and provide rights for grazing, mining, and logging under strict controls, with no required funding but potential future appropriations to acquire private lands within designated areas.

Wife Beaters Not Hulks in Scholarly View

Abuse lasts years until a child’s intervention upsets the balance, prompting external help. The study by Snell, Rosenwald, and Robey appears in Archives of General Psychiatry, AMA.
