Franklin County stalls on revoking Williamsburg business permit
Franklin County commissioners remain split over whether to revoke Jim Poe’s special use permit for a Williamsburg business that uses a holding sewage tank. The board could not reach a 2-3 vote to end the permit, despite ongoing noncompliance with sanitation and fencing requirements tied to a 2013 approval. Local officials warn that allowing noncompliant setups could hurt other businesses and set a harmful precedent while Poe’s family cites financial hurdles and asserts the holding tank meets regulations. The issue was sent back to the planning commission for further action.
