Hays touts enhanced 911 system rollout
Hays police previewed a countywide enhanced 911 setup at an open house, showing how immediate access to caller name, address, and units can cut response times. Officials cited a May fatality call where 44 minutes were spent due to unclear directions, noting the new system could have brought responders 30 minutes sooner. The upgrade cost 34500 and will cost 2281 monthly to maintain.
