Pittsburg Claims Second Straight State Crown in 11-7 Win
Pittsburg's 14-15 All-Stars captured their second Kansas Babe Ruth title with an 11-7 victory over Arkansas City at Iis Cox Field. Pittsburg broke a 4-4 tie with six runs in the fourth, added three more in the sixth, and withstood a seventh-inning ARK City rally. Brian Elliott earned the win, Mike Sparks took the loss, and Parker of Ark City earned a sportsmanship award while Olathe finished third. Pittsburg advances to regional nationals in Moorhead, Minnesota, with games starting Tuesday.
