City reaches runway for agreement with airport managers
Ottawa officials authorized city manager Richard Nienstedt and city attorney Bob Bezek to begin negotiations with Hawkeye Helicopter LLC to form Hawkeye Airport & Aviation Services, LLC as the airport fixed based operator. The advisory board urged a short term contract with renewal option, aiming for a satisfactory long term deal. Brecheisen would serve as airport manager with Chaney as assistant manager, bringing 21 years of FBO experience. The city seeks a permanent operator to replace Chuck LeMaster, who resigned in 2012.
