Ottawa loses Babe Ruth league threats hosting future Cal Ripken events
Ottawa could lose future Babe Ruth League bids after disbanding in May. The 2013 Kansas Cal Ripken 10-year-old state tournament was held July 12-15 at Orris Cox Complex in Ottawa, with eight teams and 300 plus visitors. Local volunteers aided by the Ottawa Recreation Commission kept operations running, but lack of volunteers and interest threatens Ottawa hosting more events.
