Peoples Bank deal collapses as First National withdraws
Peoples Bank chief executive officer Wint Winter Jr. stated the deal will not proceed while continuing to serve Ottawa, a community the bank has supported since 1871. Nauman of First National said the purchase did not materialize. Peoples Inc. operates 25 branches across Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico with over 50 million in capital and about 600 million in assets. First National Bank holds Louisburg and Stilwell locations with 13 million in capital.
