Fall Fashions Colorful Shapes Define Manhattans Fall Look
Kansas State University clothing design expert Marlene McComas outlines a fall fashion shift toward silhouette and color. Women favor broad shoulders, long fluid skirts, peplum suits, leather, cashmere, and denim in varied colors, with monochrome ensembles trending and bold jewelry remaining popular. Men emphasize the V shaped shoulders, draped fabrics, and sweaters with ethnic designs, paired with corduroy or pleated tweed pants and wider lapels on suits, with color played in subtle patterns.
