County wins loan to pave 34 miles of roads
Kansas Department of Transportation approved a low interest loan of about 6 million dollars to fund paving 34 miles of county roads. Commission Chairman Ed Taylor expressed relief noting the money was anticipated and the county had pushed back design and engineering work as KDOT delayed award timing. The project stands as the county’s largest road initiative and the loan arrival helps finalize the timetable.
