Markets fall as rate fears offset strong earnings by Boeing and Comcast
Stocks slid on Wednesday as rate worry dominated trading despite solid results from Boeing and Comcast which also ended its bid for Disney. Major indices declined with the Dow at 10,389.57, S&P 500 at 1,127.78, and Nasdaq at 2,006.16. Investors eye the GDP report, Fed meeting and upcoming payroll data to gauge recovery speed.

Violence erupts in southern Thailand killing over a hundred
Scores of teenage militants attacked security outposts across southern Thailand but were repulsed by police. At least 107 militants died and three police and two soldiers were killed. The attacks followed by a mosque clash where police fired tear gas and killed 11 fighters. Authorities blame Islamic separatists seeking a homeland in the Muslim south. Prime Minister Thaksin denied links to international terrorists.
